After spending hundreds of hours watching lots of fantastic Alla Prima Painters, it was very evident that they were all going for a similar style of brush. Although this selection is not set with one specific artist in mind, it is a collaborative effort of many painters and the brushes that they reach for when trying to create an Alla Prima painting. I should mention that this was not unique to portraiture, but also to still life and landscapes. This selection was thought out to be a rounded set, enabling the initial drawing stages right through to the rendering of the strokes towards the end.
